Eden Jacquet affectionately known to his friends and family as “Edo” was born to Dulyx and Edna Jacquet on December 9, 1985 in Boston, Massachusetts. Eden, born and raised in the city attended both Melrose and Boston Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Porter and Chester Institute as a certified Auto Mechanic. Family was most important to Eden; he lived by the phrase “Family First”, those who were close to him knew this and knew that they could depend on him, no matter what. Eden was a friendly and humble person, he could walk into any function as a celebrity and just like that, the room became a party. When Eden was not making people dance or charming them with his infectious smile, you could find him fixing someone’s car or listening to the hottest hip hop artist while he worked out in the gym. Eden liked to make you smile, he loved to laugh and just be happy. Eden could sit and watch Coming to America with Eddie Murphy and be completely engaged and cracking up at the jokes as if he was watching it for the first time. Quality time with close friends and family was his most favorite time spent, though he loved all and held them close to him, there was nothing or no one that captured his attention and grabbed complete control of his heart like his daughter Elaina. Elaina was truly his motivation to wake up and succeed each day. Being a father meant more to him than breathing his own air, you knew him, you knew that being not a just a father, but an exceptional dad was his priority. Elaina was the best gift that Barbara could have ever given him. Barbara reflects on the day she gave birth to Elaina, Eden was there to encourage her and hold her hand. “I’ve never seen him so scared and happy at the same time. We were both nervous and couldn’t wait to see our little girl. I will never forget how he looked into my eyes and said, baby, I’m here, I love you, you can do this baby.”
Eden was the strength, love, and support system to those he kept close to him. With heavy hearts and overwhelmed by sadness, we will miss our son, brother, father, and friend. Gone from our sight, never from our hearts.
